prelude to foundation

author: isaac asimov (the real grand master of science fiction!!)

pages: 434

at first i thought this was one of those highly-rated-boring-books-type and how wrong was i!!!!!!!!

bout human in the 12+++ years (imagine that) (where were like, HISTORY) and there not to much science fiction bout this books (not like the x-wing fighter series i once read…oh wow what a bore) but it’s simply a decription on how the world (actually it’s worlds with a capital S) and a man in the verge of discovering psychohistory… a mathematical equation that would enable us (well so to speak) to predict the future (imagine that!!!!) … i dun wanna spoil it so i’m gonna keep my mouth shut for those who haven’t read it yet…. but i warn u, this book is just like icarus.. full of misleading phrases (chapters) and this is one of the books that i will like to describe as ‘magical’, as the ending just blew me off…. more than once…. better than the day after tomorrow… the language kinda ticks u off at times but it’s still forgivable… just a little insight..k…. no harm done.. promise…. form this book i manage to gobble up the fact that mathematic is the single most important thing in the world (past, present and future)…the application was just everywhere in our daily life…. and of course the idea that yeast would be the single most important nutrition in the near future (considering the fact that we might be considering living in far off planets in the near future!!!??? - exactly 250 000 planets or so to speak…..) and what bout robots…. saviour?… consider the likes of terminator and the matrix………

i also just knew that he (isaac asimov) is the creator of i, robot….. (it’s a nice movie but too predictible…)

remember this lines?

three laws of robotics:

one, a robot may not injure a human being, or through inaction allow a human being to come to harm…

two, a robot must obey the orders given it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the first law….

three, a robot must protect its own existance, as long as such protection does not conflict with the first or second law…

but…, here’s the punch line… there’s another law….the zeroth law

zero, a robot may not injure humanity or the\rough inaction allow humanity to come to harm…..

kinda coplex but can be accepted….
