these me friends, are the names of the gladiators on the field, the lovers of the modern game… the champion of the world… (altho i might regret saying this now..but what the heck..)

Being an italy fan since ‘94… i’m really on top of the world right now… imagine this…. being a complete underdog among the other big names (brazil, england, the argies, holland etc) italy manage to overturn every odds to be in the finals against france… rekindling the nightmare of euro 2000… amongst the fracass of the match-fixing scandal back at home…. to me the MVP of the tournament should be f.cannavaro…. the sweeper, the captain, the heartrob… he’s just the perfect defender any manager would dream of… he’s just too calm, too poise, too cool to be a CB…

to be honest, this is the first time i enjoyed watching a defensive game.. the passes was just exquisite… yes italy is playing a very dangerous game with all those short passes at the back… but they didn’t even bother… when most of the other defender would be happy by just whacking the ball out of the box, the likes of cannavaro materazzi grosso zambrotta and pirlo would continue doing the midfiekder’s flick-ons (which made my heart jumped a few time - cursed u!!!!! they r scaring the life outta me!!!) and pliz appreciate what zambrotta and grossa had done… they r just tireless!

from the heart of defence to pirlo (who can hold the ball like it’s nobody’s bussiness), up toward totti who has a two delicate foot and good eyes… to the left there grosso, perotta, to teh right, the ever charming zambrotta… (pliz someone kill cammoranesi n gilardino) to me italy is a complete team…. for a defensive team they have a delightful attacking play… espcially the game against germany… it’s the game of the tournament.. end-to-end…. both team showing tremendous defensive-attacking play… only those who really love footbal would be able to appreciate it!!!!

yeah, i have to admit that i’m a non believer at first… i dun really think italy can win the world cup at first.. ( u can ask sethu) but my gosh, am i wrong..
